Designed and engineered by the SuperMiata team this is now BBR's recomended premium MX-5 ND suspension offering. Tecna's provide the very best comfort levels with superior travel over any MX-5 coilover available. As fitted our own ND2 MX-5's, Supercharged (GT) and Turbocharged (Sport) - contact us for demonstration.

The Lowdown: The Tecna coilover was engineered from scratch by the SuperMiata team to be the best riding coilover in this price range whilst still allowing lowered ride heights. These are daily driver/dual duty dampers, not race shocks. GT's are perfect for a daily driver, with occasional track use, whilst the higher Sport spring rates sacrifice a little comfort for the ultimate track day/hill climb/sprint setup.

Why one piece body?  Tecna are fixed length, one piece body shock. Body, shaft lengths, mounts, and internal configuration are specifically engineered and maximized for this application unlike most aftermarket 2 piece, length adjustable coilovers that use an existing universal short cartridge with an adapter cup extension to make it fit. The upside of 2 piece coilovers is that they are cheap to produce. The downside is that they aren’t optimized for any particular platform and as a result don’t perform as well as 1 piece (fixed length) shocks. Both race teams and OEM’s do not use 2 piece shocks, ever. So whether you are looking for ride quality or performance, 1 piece shocks are the current state of the art.

GT or Sport Springs? For a road focused build, stick with the GT rates. These will improve handling and provide amazing ride quality over any road surface. If you don’t mind the firmer ride that Sport Springs provide, this will give the ultimate competition setup.

Set up:  Typical available adjustment ranges are front pinch weld heights between 120-150mm  with the driver. Adjust rear pinch weld height 3mm higher than front height without driver as a starting point. Recommend front pinch weld height for street driven cars are 133mm. Tecna GT will give the best combination of handling and ride comfort for fast ride use. For a more focussed setup combine this with Eibach MX-5 ND Front and Rear Tubular Anti Roll Bars. If focused solely on competition use we recommend Tecna Sport, but this does trade some road ride quality for that extra transitional response.

Warranty
10 year limited warranty against materials, defects, workmanship. Free replacement shock for leaks for first 5 years. Prorated after that.
