BBR ND SUPER 200
(2.0-litre ND 2019 on models only) +18bhp & 10lb.ft
The Super 200 upgrade is suited to the flagship 2.0-litre 184 PS Mazda MX-5 ND models and has been designed with complete forward compatibility with further BBR normally aspirated engine upgrades.
Key components of the BBR Super 200 include:-
Months of in-house dyno, road and circuit driving development on the 184 PS version of the Skyactiv-G engine has resulted in the Super 200 upgrade, which is available as drive-in/drive-out conversions, or as self-install packages for both for domestic and export markets.
This is the first time that over 100 bhp per litre has been achievable from a normally aspirated Mazda MX-5 motor without internal modifications, an amazing accomplishment for a predominately standard engine! BBR’s ‘Super 200’ upgrade focuses on breathing improvements on the 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G powerplant, with no change to engine internals this results in a non invasive, simple self-install.
Post conversion the BBR Super 200 upgraded Mazda MX-5 produces 202 bhp at 7300 rpm (+18 bhp,) allied to 165 lb.ft of torque (+10 lb.ft) at just 3950 rpm, at 900 rpm lower than the stock motor. This makes the 1100 kilo Mazda MX-5 both faster and more user-friendly in all driving situations, with significant extra urge and throttle response making for an unforgettable, exhilarating motoring.
The addition of a 2.5 inch diameter high performance TIG welded stainless steel exhaust centre section (£495.00) allied to stainless steel 2.5 inch BBR silencers will provide further power gains. Two silencer options are available from BBR, a quieter GT option for customers who prefer a subtle more muted note, or a Supersport option delivering a true sportscar note.
Exclusively from BBR, the Super 200 is available at £1445+VAT fitted (including dyno testing.) A self-install version is also available including programming/diagnostic software and OBD at £1245+VAT
TECHNICAL NOTE: BBR’s in-house dyno/power testing is performed using 99 octane gasoline. Using this procedure, the standard 2019 MY 2.0-litre MX-5 recorded a peak output of 185 bhp and all BBR quoted power increases reference this verified baseline output.
FOR FITTING AT BBR WORKSHOPS WE WOULD REQUIRE THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN A FULL DAY
